Meet Our Founders
Fern Williams
Fern Williams is the founder of KIR Ministries, which she started in 1996. Born in Jamaica, she came to America at 17 and built a life of ministry and service. For 30 years she has served her community through the food pantry in Gordon, Georgia, feeding 30+ families monthly in partnership with the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank. She also founded Bless To The Max personal care homes. In July 2026 she was honored with the Community Hero Award in Red Hills, Jamaica.
Mother Lou Hardnett
Fern Williams co-started KIR Ministries with Mother Lou Hardnett in 1996.
About Us
As an official agency partner of the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank, we distribute groceries, fresh produce, and pantry staples on the third Saturday of each month — meeting families where they are, with dignity, consistency, and love.
Founded by Fern Williams out of a lifelong calling to serve, KIR believes no one in our community should go hungry.
Food Assistance
Every month, KIR Ministries purchases food from the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank and distributes it free of charge to families across Gordon, Wilkinson County, and surrounding middle Georgia communities.
Our volunteers give their time to prepare food bags with care — because no one in our community should go hungry.
